Happy New Year! Here’s hoping you had a great 2016 and for a greater 2017 ahead! Last year, a couple of us here at ItB tackled Tim Challies’ reading challenge — my own personal goal was to finish 26 books in 2016, along a specific list of categories. If you’re interested in doing a reading challenge for 2017, read on:
So, in 2016 I read 25 books total, about 15 of them from the list of recommended categories. I had several books that didn’t fit into any spot on the list, so those brought up the rear. For 2017, my goal is to read as many books as I read in 2016, plus one. I’m not going to attempt a specific list this year, but only try to increase my reading by a book.
Here are some of the books I’m excited to read (or finish) in 2017:
- Conscience by Andy Naselli
- Restoring At-Risk Communities by John M. Perkins
- Confessions by Augustine
- The Idiot by Fyodr Dostoevsky
- Notes from the Underground by Fyodr Dostoevsky
- Demons by Fyodr Dostoevsky
- Do More Better by Tim Challies
What are you hoping to read in 2017? Let us know in the comments below.
