Currahee is published!

Currahee is is a story about time travel and opportunity, set in the distant but imminent past-future of Northeast Georgia. And, after 7 years, it’s finally available for you to read.

Buy a Copy (Digital Only, for now)

I’m now selling digital copies of the novel right here on Into the Book. Payments are processed via Stripe, please contact me if you have any concerns. As of now, I have plans for audio and paperback releases as well, and will be putting proceeds towards that goal.

If you can’t afford this ebook, please let me know and we will find some way for you to read the story. And, if you experience any problems at all checking out or purchasing the book, please get in touch.

What’s Next?

Get the physical book published! I have a complete layout ready for publication (it was the source for the ebook and the formatted PDF export) and printing. I’d like to publish via the Offset printing method rather than print-on-demand, to produce higher quality books. This means a one-time investment in 100-500 copies of the book, which I’ll store at home and fulfill by hand. All of that takes time and money, so purchases of the ebook will help make that possible.

As for audio, I’ve toyed around with either A) recording the whole thing myself, or B) generating some sort of audio that sounds acceptable. I’m not solid either way here yet, but would like to have something to offer eventually.

What’s Next Next?

The second book set in this continuity already half-exists. It’s called Tugaloo, and no, I won’t sit on it for 7 years before publishing it. I have vague ideas for other stories in this same world, and even vaguer ideas for other stories that are completely unrelated. For now, raising two boys and pouring into my family is chewing up a great deal of my time.

As always, the best way to find out about what I’m currently up to is this very blog.

Some Thanks

I would like to thank my wife, Alisha, for the constant help and support with every portion of this novel’s creation, for the last eight years. I love you!

Elizabeth and Andrew are my indispensable alpha readers. Elizabeth spurred me on to create the initial rough draft of this book in 2016 and following. And Andrew was a key reason the book even exists today in its final form, after reading a half-finished version in 2021 and encouraging me to finish it.

I would like to thank the following people who have read all or parts of the book at various points, providing valuable beta reader feedback: Stephen, Casey, Jamaica, Holly, Kyle, Brenda, Laurel, Emily, and Jenny. I would also like to thank my family, who listened to an advanced draft entirely via read-aloud on Marco Polo.

All stories, I hope, point to the truer, greater Story being written in each one of our lives. As Eugene Peterson so well put it,

“Our stories may be interesting, but they are not the point.”
